  1. Well it's been a while since my last blog, so I thought I would give you a brief insight into what we have been up to!

With the closing for voting at the Equine Social Media Awards al finalists had to make 2 videos, 1 an acceptance speech, the other a message of support for other finalists. Well, not being one to sit in front of even a camera without going the colour of beetroot, the thought of actually performing for a video, well, I can assure you that was one uncomfortable thought! However, with a lot of help from Nicki Strong and my daughters excellent computer video skills, and 5 hours of torture, we made them, what a night that was! There was an awful lot of laughter and almost some tears, but we completed our task, and finally within a few minutes of the deadline, I submitted them. Thankfully they arrived at their destination and downloaded well, all we have to do now is await the final judging.....

Our new Team Kilminster member Sahara has settled in well and enjoying being ridden around our local villages, while at weekends she is thoroughly pampered by Martin and worked in the school. We are still working on her fitness before looking at competitions for her. But watch this space as she could be ready fairly soon..

Monty update: With the poor weather, it delayed our training, and the first day the ground was good again, he came in without a shoe!!!! Typical! Good job my farrier could come out and replace it soon, he doesn't do well in bare feet, so we had to take it steady, however now we are back up and running again and looking out for a competitoin as son as we can. Below is one of our most recent pictures taken by Martin at the weekend of a schooling session:

Our sponsored rider Nicki Strong has been very busy with her lovely horses, if you visit her own website you can read all about her recent activity; http://www.headstrongequestrian.com/index.html

We are also very busy organising clinics for various disciplines at the moment too, it does seem to be all go here at Team Kilminster so far, watch out for our updates via our facebook page  http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Kilminster-Equestrian-Ltd/141398019253403?sk=wall  along with our twitter feed https://twitter.com/#!/KEquestrianLtd

  2. 2012 has seen the arrival of our newest Team Kilminster family member!

Going by the name Lovelyhill Sahara, or just Sahara to her friends, this lovely little mare moved in with Monty on 29th January and immediately settled in well.

Sahara actually belongs to my own partner Martin, but is as much a Team Kilminster member as Monty and Martin are!

So what are Sahara statistics? Well, she is a New Forest x Appaloosa, 9 years old, stands at approx 15.1hh and is a Dun Spotty - and is lovely!

    Sahara

Previously she has been a happy hacker and started some schooling work when Martin purchased her back in 2008, including jumping, which she took to very well, however we are looking to up her game and start competing at dressage as soon as she is ready, there is some work to be done first, but as she tries so hard to please, we are not anticipating that this will take too long!

Both myself and Martin will be the ones out and about on her, and maybe our sponsored rider Nicki Strong may well be seen jumping her at some point too.

As she has only just moved in, we are taking things a little slowly with her to begin, let her settle and find her feet, so to keep her ticking over we have been using the pessoa on her and these are the first pictures of her at work with Team Kilminster...
