What a big improvement on Larkhills attempt! Bovington was a great day out for all, appart from the 4am start! Eric was much better this time, our scores don't really suggest so, however it was his behaviour that was the best, 42 dressage, he was quite tense again but no where near Larkhills tension, 4 faults showjumping, a great course but Eric just brushes number 4 with his front toe and there went that pole! and 9.8 faults cross country, the course was very winding and had 2 water jumps so with such a long striding horse and very short turns we tried our best but not quite supploe enough i think! Never mind though, he did so well, as did my grooms for the day Jamie and Tara, both who never actually believed that 4am actually existed! Team Kilminster did VERY VERY well...
Well, Eric and I completed the Larkhill event, albeit not as well as expected.... Eric really wanted to show off his advanced moves in the dressage, flying changes, lateral work mmmm.... don't think so eric! Well, after deliberating with my groom Charlie, I decided to go for the jumping on the Sunday, as the dressage was held on the Saturday.Well following a night rest for all concerned, off we went again, this time hoping Eric may have some manners and most importantly some brakes, yes, they were working in the warm up, however, when the horn sounded to start the course, Eric was like a coiled spring, I swear he had been on the energy drink "red bull" as he really did believe he had wings! He flew round the course, giving all but the planks enough room to get a double decker bus through.....Advanced soon??... Well our results were 4 faults in the showjumping, and 2 time faults XC, so Bovington here we come!!!
